The boy had fallen into the borewell at 3.15 pm on Monday in Kalikhad village. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team had said that he was trapped between old pipes. Aryan was playing at a farm and accidentally fell into the borewell in front of his mother.

Aryan was taken out of the borewell on Wednesday night and was rushed to a hospital in an unconscious state, where doctors declared him dead.

According to National Disaster Response Force data, at least 40 children fell into borewells over a decade until 2019, with nearly 70 per cent of rescue operations proving unsuccessful.
