Upon arriving to the Gold Country Wildlife Rescue, the bear cub was dehydrated, anemic, underweight and suffering ear infections and a skin infection.

A critically ill black bear cub is now under the watchful eyes of Gold Country Wildlife Rescue after being found near Coloma on Monday night. The Auburn-based wildlife rescue center took the cub in for examination and treatment at Companion Veterinary Clinic,

Earlier this week, an El Dorado County community banded together to rescue a visibly sick bear cub that had been seen wandering nearby for months. Rescuers captured the young bear on Monday and took him to Gold Country Wildlife Rescue for proper care and treatment.
