Epic Games agreed to pay $245 million in refunds to Fortnite players who federal regulators say were "tricked" into making unwanted in-game purchases.

Fortnite players could soon see some money back as the first installment of the refund from the Epic Games settlement is announced.

The Federal Trade Commission this week sent out more than 629,000 totaling more than $72 million payments to people who were tricked by Epic Games, which makes the popular video game Fortnite. Monday's payments were the first round of checks sent out stemming from a 2022 settlement that alleged Epic Games tricked video game players into making unintentional charges.
