On Saturday, a new image generator called Aurora became available for some Grok users, many of whom shared the tool’s results on X touting their photorealism. But as of Sunday afternoon, Aurora appears to be gone.

The Grok AI chatbot on X has been limited to Premium users. However, as first spotted by The Verge, starting on Friday, free users began noticing that they had also been given access to the Grok 2 chatbot, with the ability to send up to 10 Grok messages every two hours.

X has made its Grok chatbot free to all users. Grok is developed by xAI, Elon Musk’s AI company that was spun up as a response to OpenAI. The news doesn’t come as a surprise as some users noticed weeks ago that X had begun offering free access to the LLM chatbot.
