The U.S. House passed the country's annual defense policy bill, the $895 billion National Defense Authorization Act that includes a pay raise for service members and a funding ban on gender-affirming care for children.

The House passed the annual defense funding bill Wednesday afternoon. The $895.2 billion National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which sets Pentagon policy and guides funding for the year ahead, was advanced by a vote of 281 to 140.

"On this vote, the yeas are 281 and the nays are 140. The motion is adopted. Without objection, the motion to reconsider is laid on the table."
