Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick agreed to a five-year deal with the University of North Carolina Tar Heels.

The Bill Belichick era at the University of North Carolina is officially underway. On Thursday, the football icon, known for his renowned straight-to-the-point candor, was unveiled as the Tar Heels’ head coach.

Jason Gay referred to Belichick coaching North Carolina as “great theater.” He believes he’ll “have to be careful,” noting that college coaches are expected to hide, or at least dampen, their ruthlessness.
