Bandai Namco revealed a new Pac-Man game at the Game Awards 2024, but it’s probably not what anyone expected. Shadow Labyrinth is a 2D action-adventure game set to launch in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It completely twists the classic franchise on its head by giving it a grim, eerie tone.

At The Game Awards, Bandai Namco announced a new, darker take on Pac-Man with Shadow Labyrinth, an action-platformer that inherits aspects of the franchise while taking it in a new direction.

Of all the shocks and surprises at The Game Awards, Shadow Labyrinth may just be the most unusual of them all. It’s a side-scrolling action platformer in a similar style to something like, say, Dead Cells – except it’s inexplicably also a Pac-Man game.
