The U.S. State Department has approved a potential sale of spare parts for F-16 jets and radars to Taiwan for an estimated $320 million, the Pentagon said on Friday. The Pentagon said the State Department had also approved a potential sale to Taiwan of improved mobile subscriber equipment and support for an estimated $65 million.

The United States has approved a $385 million arms sale to provide spare parts and equipment for Taiwan’s F-16 fighter jets and radar systems. This move strengthens Taiwan’s defences as tensions with China remain high.
