Butler’s absence was the more noteworthy story: The former San Diego State standout suffered a right ankle injury during last week’s road loss at Clemson. Butler didn’t play Saturday in the win over Gonzaga, and he again didn’t suit up for the Cats against Colgate.

With Kriisa sidelined, Kentucky moved fifth-year guard Jaxson Robinson — who played for Pope during the last two seasons at BYU — to point guard down the stretch in regulation and in overtime. Robinson delivered as well. After a sluggish first half, Robinson scored 15 points and dished out 3 assists in the second half and overtime combined.

Kerr Kriisa went down with an injury against Gonzaga and it did require surgery. He will have to miss significant time because of it, but when he talked to Mark Pope, he just wanted to make it known that he loves this Kentucky basketball team.

Fifth-year guard Kerr Kriisa is expected to be out for several weeks due to a foot injury that requires surgery following Saturday’s comeback win over Gonzaga in Seattle.
