A high-profile Dark Souls 3 boss, the Nameless King, is in Elden Ring Nightreign – something nobody saw coming.

Newly announced Elden Ring Nightreign was one of the greater surprises of The Game Awards 2024 and its director, Junya Ishizaki, has spoken to Japanese outlet Famitsu about the title and revealed further details – thanks to Automaton for the translation.

Nightreign's first trailer—and even more in PCG senior editor Wes Fenlon's massive hands-on preview of the game. But among the familiar sights of the roguelike spinoff's bizarro Limgrave, there was an even deeper bit of deja vu: The return of a previously one-of-a-kind boss from Dark Souls 3.

With several Dark Souls bosses appearing in Elden Ring Nightreign's trailer, these other series bosses would also be welcome additions to the game.
