In the wake of Atul Subhash's heartbreaking suicide, candlelight vigils across India are uniting voices to demand justice and raise awareness about domestic abuse.

Subhash's body was found hanging at his residence in the Manjunath Layout area, which falls under the Marathahalli police station limits

Before his death, Atul, who is a native of Bihar, recorded an 80-minute long video in which he accused his wife Nikita Singhania and her family of extorting money from him by slapping multiple cases on him.

The mother-in-law and the brother-in-law of techie Atul Subhash, who committed suicide in Bengaluru, fled their home in Jaunpur on Thursday, even as Uttar Pradesh Police said it was yet to receive any official communication from Karnataka.

The 34-year-old techie ended his life on Monday in Bengaluru, alleging harassment at the hands of his estranged wife and her family. A case of abetment to suicide was registered against his wife Nikita Singhania, her mother Nisha, father Anurag and uncle Sushil.

Bengaluru police on Wednesday (Dec 11) said that an FIR was filed against the techie's wife Nikita Singhania, his mother-in-law Nisha Singhania, his wife's brother Anurag Singhania and his wife's uncle Sushil Singhania based on Kumar's complaint under section 108 (abetment of suicide) and section 3 (5) (establishes joint criminal liability when two or more people act with a common intention) of the BNS.
