Over 22,000 people reported issues with Facebook this evening and over 18,000 struggled to use WhatsApp, according to Downdetector.

Outage tracker Downdetector shows big spikes for Instagram with 70,000 outage reports above average and Facebook, which had over 100,000 outage reports, as of Wednesday afternoon. Outage reports began to decline in volume after a peak around 1:10 p.m. ET.

Meta apps and services like Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Messenger are down as part of an apparent outage. Staff at Engadget and users across X and Bluesky have reported issues loading Meta’s websites and logging in.
